What’s Included in My Trip?

While you are budgeting for your SWiM trip, it is crucial that you fully understand what is included/not included in the trip cost. Below is a breakdown of those expenses.

NORTH AMERICAN TRIPS

SWIM provides the following to or for you:

  • SWiM t-shirt

  • SWiM luggage tag

  • SWiM journal

  • Housing expenses

  • Food expenses at meal times. Special dietary needs are your responsibility.

  • Sightseeing expenses based on itinerary

  • Medical trip insurance

  • Onsite transportation expenses

What’s NOT included in your payment for a North American SWiM trip:

  • Travel to and from the city of the mission effort.

  • Meals at the airport

  • Immunizations (if required)

  • Your luggage fees for the flight to the host city

  • Passports (if required)

  • Trip Cancellation Insurance

  • WiFi access (note: Some hotels in North America provide WiFi free of charge)

  • Snacks purchased between meals

  • Souvenirs

GLOBAL TRIPS

What’s included:

  • SWiM t-shirt

  • SWiM luggage tag

  • SWiM journal

  • International flight from the base city

  • International luggage based on luggage policy

  • Onsite transportation expenses

  • Housing expenses

  • Food expenses - Any special dietary needs will be your responsibility. Global

Missions trips require more significant preparation. Many hotels/restaurants do not

provide options that are gluten-free or sugar-free. Come prepared – no complaining

permitted in a country where we represent a missionary. Don’t presume that you

will be able to buy any needed item(s). Global destinations are seldom anything

like your hometown or city.
